Summer Academy 2015

International Instant Music-Theater Laboratory 2015

The MAPA Summer Academy is an intense theater laboratory project with the special topic: the integration of music, performing body and light in space.
It is especially developed for musicians to experience spatial awareness and to enrich their performing skills. We work with physicality and music instrument(s) towards compositions in a theatrical confrontation. It all happens instantly, in the moment.

Participants of the MAPA International Instant Music-Theater laboratory 2015 are performing during Zwerfklank Festival on location, in Studio MAPA Nederland (Haarlem) and in the Conservatory Amsterdam.

A fascinating and unique physical process based on improvisation, crystalizing the instant challenge of composing in a theatrical environment. We call it audible, visible and sensible music. All from the body, interacting sound, movement and light, inviting the audience for a poetic adventure.
